Why These 4 Essential James Allen Questions Will Be Your Greatest Roadmap

“For true success, ask yourself these four questions: Why? Why not? Why not me? Why not now?” – James Allen

One of the most powerful abilities we have as human beings is the ability to think and reason. This one ability, this one particular difference is what separates mankind from all of the other species on the planet. Our ability to communicate with both ourselves and others through the power of questions, is the element which gives us the unique opportunity to do, be, or become, whatever we choose.

The four most powerful questions we could ever ask ourselves are captured in this James Allen quote for each of us to consider. The first question of “why” helps us to establish a basic understanding of causation. “Why not” helps us to understand why things are the way they are at the present moment in time. “Why not me” begs the answer to, if someone else did it, why wouldn’t I be able to do it too? “Why not now” is the question answering our perception of whether whatever we are considering is “possible” at this present moment in time.

Let’s take a closer look at each of these questions so we can better understand the application of them in our own lives. Remember, it is the application of knowledge which determines the value of knowledge attained, not knowledge itself.

How? No! How is irrelevant! Why? Why is the real question we need to answer. If our why is big enough, “HOW” will always show up, period. Whatever it is that we desire, we must first become crystal clear on why it’s important to us. Our why will pull us in the direction of our desired outcome. Why not? Why not is the question addressing our beliefs about not only what’s possible, but possible for us as individuals or groups of individuals, think men and women for example… Why not me? Why not me makes the question “PERSONAL.” Why not now? Why not now activates our next level of questioning about when? If not now, when? This question helps us wrestle with the idea of fitting whatever we are considering, into our current “life plan.”

We can create a thousand reasons for why not… It only requires one reason for WHY!
Either identify or create YOUR own compelling “Why.” Your “WHY” will make the answer to why not easy and will carry you over, around, or through any obstacles you encounter on your way to success. Our “why” creates both the belief in what’s possible, and more importantly, what’s possible for “US!”
