Are You Afraid Of Success

Fear of Success

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”Marianne Williams

Our Deepest Fear Is That We Are Powerful Beyond Measure

This is one of the most inspiring and well liked quotes that you will ever come across, and it will give you a completely different angle on the way you view yourself and the world. This chill-giver quote states that our deepest fear is that we are scared to be someone and something so great, and as awkward as it may sound, we are actually afraid of success. Everyone has genius inside them but to let it shine is what frightens people because we are subconsciously afraid to stand out from the rest. Sure, many fear failure, but what Marianne Williams suggests (and is most likely true for you), is that people far more fear success because of the way others will view them. Human beings unwillingly care too much about how they will be perceived by others. Even Ben Franklin once stated “it is in the eyes of others and not our own eyes which ruin us”. So if you wish to awaken the sleeping giant within, you must conquer and eliminate this fear, which is more common than all the rest, and is most likely… your deepest fear.

Are You Playing Small So Others Won’t Feel Insecure Around You?

If you are afraid of success it’s most likely because yo don’t want others to feel insecure around you. It scares most of us to stand out due to the fact that we feel like we’re going to be different than our peers, and we wrongfully believe that others will feel uncomfortable around us. The feeling of loneliness is a very scary thought for most, and that feeling alone can be what’s holding you back from your wildest dreams.

We often subconsciously think we’re being humble by not surmounting to something great, so that others won’t feel insecure or unmeasurable to us, we are sadly mistaken, because this resists us from pursuing our needs and wants. For example, you may have a desire to become a more positive and enlightened individual, however when around your peers, you tend to swoop to their level and begin to complain about life just as they do because you want to be able to connect with them. Humans hate to feel unwelcoming or out of place, and hence do things to appeal to others. However, this will not help you nor will it help them become successful; sure you will feel a sense of short term connection, but what you need to realize is that these types of relationships are built on unhealthy terms and they will soon fade. The way to really bond with people, is to be the best, real you and become who and what you really want. Sympathetic love for people does nothing for others but let them stay comfortable in their current lifestyle. You must push yourself to the inner potential you know you have and not worry about others, surely they will follow.

You Will Change The World By Going After Your Dreams

Being afraid of success can be liberating, as it can be the last block holding you from greatness. When you decide to actually do what you love, and have the courage to pursue your dreams, whatever they may be, you then pave a way for others to follow. Now imagine if you’re achieving great success, you’ve got the body you’ve always wanted, you’ve got your dream partner, you’re financially free, and you just love life, now imagine when you’re around people who don’t have that kind of success. Chances are, they will begin to feel awkward, uncomfortable and maybe even a little jealous, this awkwardness will make them do one of two things, they will either stop hanging out with you, or it will inspire them to make major changes in their own lives, and push them to follow their deep desires and passions too.

If you can overcome this fear, you will be victorious in your quest, you will soar to new heights and have a much more fulfilling life. The best part is that you won’t be lonely because you will either meet people with similar achievements, or you will subconsciously enlighten your friends and family to strive for greatness. When you become an achiever in your life, you become an example, a leader and most importantly, an inspiration to the world for others to learn from and follow. Dare to be so great! Like the quote says, “… as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
