Inner Keys to Success

Ellen Pursued What Made Her Happy:

Ellen made the wise choice to do what made her happy. After dropping out of University, she was wandering around from job to job and was not truly fulfilled. Whether it was being a waitress at TGIF or working at JC Penny. It all changed when she experienced stage freight at a public speaking event in which she used comedy and humor to get through it. She shined and this event led her to boldly make a decision to pursue what was in her heart; a stand-up comedian. She went full-fledged into her passion, and before long would become extremely successful. Deciding to go after what you love can be a pinnacle change in your life. It’s the paradox of life, ‘when you don’t go for the money but instead for what makes you happy, the money will follow.’ As proof of her wisdom and humor, Ellen has stated “Follow your passion. Stay true to yourself. Never follow someone else’s path unless you’re in the woods and you’re lost and you see a path. By all means, you should follow that.”

Ellen Had A Strong Level of Integrity, Staying True To Herself:

A large part of her success comes from not pretending to be somebody else. After announcing she was a lesbian, she may have had a small set back initially; however, she now has more loyal fans than ever before who respect her for who she is. It is evident that Ellen’s round personality is very charismatic because she is not scared to be herself. “It’s our challenges and obstacles that give us layers of depth and make us interesting. Are they fun? No. But they are what make us unique. And that’s what I know for sure… I think”

Ellen Persisted. She Stayed Focused On Her End Goal:

Ellen DeGeneres did not get discouraged and give up when push came to shove. When Ellen’s show was cancelled, she went straight for bigger and better things. During Ellen’s pursuit for bigger and better things, her initial The Ellen Show faced some setbacks, but she still did not give up. After getting poor ratings from the talk show, she did not let it affect her and decided to take another shot at it in which her persistent mindset paid off, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show has been running ever since. “When you take risks you learn that there will be times when you succeed and there will be times when you fail, and both are equally important.”

Ellen DeGeneres Success

“For me, it’s that I contributed… That I’m on this planet doing some good and making people happy. That’s to me the most important thing, that my hour of television is positive and upbeat and an antidote for all the negative stuff going on in life.” – Quote by Ellen DeGeneres
