The ‘Must-Have’ Trait For Success: Enthusiasm

Ellen DeGeneres Enthusiasm

“Enthusiasm is the yeast that makes your hopes shine to the stars. Enthusiasm is the sparkle in your eyes, the swing in your gait. The grip of your hand, the irresistible surge of will and energy to execute your ideas” – Henry Ford

Enthusiasm is arguably the most needed trait to in order to succeed. With enthusiasm, positive energy oozes through your entire body and into the world. The definition of enthusiasm according to Google is to have intense and eager enjoyment. Another, more popular definition of enthusiasm, according to ancient Greek, is “god from within”. That’s right according to ancient Greek if you’re enthusiastic, it means you’re acting from God energy.

Enthusiasm is Contagious

In every relationship you encounter, whether it’d be with a stranger on the streets, the love of your life, friends, or coworkers, if you’re enthusiastic, your energy will spread to the other people and will instantly affect the way they interact with you. This means that just by being enthusiastic alone, you will instantly enhance any relationship in your life. Think about it, how could you possibly do any harm to anyone with “intense enjoyment”.

Just by being enthusiastic alone, without even interacting with anyone, you’re influencing everyone that comes near you because of the energy that’s spreading from your body and into the world. Take a look at one of the most charismatic talk show hosts in the world, Ellen DeGeneres, she exuberates with enthusiasm every time she goes to work and enters the stage, and as a result people literally can’t get enough of her. She’s a prime example of someone with enthusiasm and therefore, her viewers instantly feel better just by watching her on the show. Unlike Oprah, she doesn’t teach people anything of value, but does different things such as playing games that express joy which brightens peoples’ days.

You’re Only As Successful As The Energy You Put Out

This quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson  holds true “nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” Everyone knows that we get what we give, so if you put out small amounts of energy into the world, you’ll get small results in return. In other words, the more enthusiastic you are, the more positive results will manifest in your life. Most people are playing the game of life in a small way, they’re scared to take up space and express themselves to the fullest, and consequently their lives turn out to be nothing greater than average. You can’t be scared to express your enthusiasm to the world because the more energy you put out into the world, the greater impact you’ll have in the world, whether negative or positive and enthusiasm is the greatest positive energy you can possess.

Everything you do, do it with enthusiasm. Take working out as an analogy, when you feel worn out, you can’t lift a lot of weight, or run long distance, but when you’re energetic and “pumped-up” you can lift weights with ease, and even have more endurance than you normally would. Now take that and apply it to everything else in your life, if you want to be able to do “big things” with life, you’ve got to get enthusiastic!

Simple Ways To Get Enthusiastic About LIFE!

Here are some small, simple ways you can get enthusiastic about life on a daily basis:

Jump out of bed: Feel tired when you get up in the morning, I challenge you to literally JUMP out of bed. I can guarantee you that this will get your juice flowing and your body feeling energetic.

Like Lady Gaga says, “Just Dance, It’ll be okay…”: (even if there’s absolutely no reason to do so) – This one is pretty self-explanatory. When you dance, you take life lightly and stop worrying about things.

Smile: smile releases endorphins into your body that will make you feel good and thus, adding to the positive energy you want to express to the world.

Celebrate small accomplishments: When you celebrate small accomplishments, you will be excited and enthusiastic enough to accomplish the next thing.

There is absolutely no excuse as to why you shouldn’t be enthusiastic. In fact, choosing to be enthusiastic on a daily basis can literally change your entire life from a boring and dull one to an exciting and fun one. It will change your perspective so that you can’t wait to get out of bed every morning, and tasks you found difficult will start to feel exhilarating. Live with ENTHUSIASM!
